Newswise — Engineering college's multi-media podcasts help students conquer career prep steps

Undergrads and graduate students in engineering at The University of Texas at Austin who are on the go can still access career resources from their college by listening to more than a dozen innovative podcasts.

All podcasts students in the fall will hear feature slides and video recordings along with audio. The Engineering Carreer Assistance Center provides the podcasts about interviewing tips, internship options and other career-related knowledge to supplement in-office resources in a format that appeals to tech-savvy students. The center's podcasts produced in conjunction with the College of Engineering's Faculty Innovation Center have been downloaded more than 6,000 times since fall 2006.

Some multi-media podcast examples provide advice from recruiters and from students about how to make the most of the center's annual career fair.
