Newswise — The leadership at LifeBridge Health takes its commitment to diversity seriously. So seriously that a new organization-wide diversity initiative was launched in 2008 that involved the creation of a Diversity Council.

"LifeBridge Health values a work environment where diversity is embraced, where people are promoted on their merits, and where people treat others with dignity and respect," said Executive Champion Neil Meltzer, president and COO of Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and Sr. VP of LifeBridge Health.

Diversity Council members are drawn from throughout the organization and meet monthly for two hours. Members commit for two years and create short and long term goals.

"To be 'heard' is an important aspect of a respectful environment," said Diversity Council Chair Taylor Foss, LifeBridge Health vice president of Human Resources.

LifeBridge Health is one of Baltimore's largest health organizations that includes Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, Northwest Hospital, Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital and Courtland Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. For more information, visit www.lifebridgehealth.org
