World's Largest Diabetes Organization Discusses First Position Statement in Support of Surgery for Treatment of Diabetes for Obese Patients

WHAT:The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) will hold a press briefing to announce their first position statement on interventional therapies for Type 2 diabetes.

The IDF will urge the international community to consider bariatric surgery earlier in the treatment of eligible patients to help stem the serious complications that can result from diabetes. Dr. Herbert Pardes, president and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, will lead the press briefing at the Hilton NY.
