Invitation to Cover Pennsylvania Hospital presents Breast Cancer: Early Detection is Key, A Community Education Program Wednesday, October 22, 5-8 pm

Newswise — WHAT: Think pink this October. Reduce your risk of developing breast cancer. Experts from the Joan Karnell Cancer Center at Pennsylvania Hospital will reveal the latest information on basic breast health, breast cancer risk in minorities and breast cancer prevention at a free community education program on Wednesday, October 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Tangerine Restaurant. Dinner is included and registration is required. This program is made possible by generous support from the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Program and the First Hospital Foundation of Pennsylvania Hospital. The evening will include the following presentations:

"¢ Empowering Women: Phyllis Hoagland Allen, motivational speaker and cancer survivor will share her uplifting message of positivity and in the face of cancer. "¢ Genetic Risk for Breast Cancer: Bernard Mason, MD, medical oncologist will address when women should get tested and the latest advances in genetic testing for cancer. "¢ Breast Cancer Update: Dahlia Sataloff, MD, breast surgeon and director of the Integrated Breast Center at Pennsylvania Hospital will lead a discussion on the latest in breast cancer research, treatment and surgery. "¢ Question & Answer session: An opportunity to have your questions answered by the physicians.
