Newswise — WASHINGTON (March 4, 2016) – Clinicians and researchers from the George Washington University (GW) Department of Dermatology will present on a variety of topics including Nanotechnology, Atopic and Contact Dermatitis, Wound Healing, and Psoriasis at the 74th Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology, March 4 – 8 in Washington, D.C.
Selected posters to be presented by GW dermatologists include:
- Nitric oxide releasing nanoparticles as a potential treatment for superficial and deep cutaneous dermatophytosis – Research looking at topical nanoparticle therapy as a way to overcome treatment limitations for dermatophytosis, keratinolytic fungi infecting the skin, hair and nails (Poster #2949, Infection - Fungal, Basic Science)
- Psoriasis-associated Fatigue: A Review of Pathogenesis, Metrics and Treatment – Review highlighting the importance of qualifying and quantifying fatigue amongst patients with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, as well as highlighting the need to develop novel therapeutics to target this debilitating element of a multi-system disease, which is often ignored (Poster #3541, Psoriasis & Other Papulosquamous Disorders)
- Insurance Coverage of Biologics for Moderate-to-Severe Psoriasis: A Database Review – Evaluation of recent shifts in coverage for biological therapies for psoriasis patients, due to increasing regulation (Poster #3173, Psoriasis & Other Papulosquamous Disorders, Pharmacology)
