Adams has been with Meridian Health since 1992, most recently serving as Vice President of Operations at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for the past ten years. He brings tremendous experience to his new role, which includes managing 1,250 employees and a budget of $190 million with oversight in the areas of surgical services, the Emergency Department, imaging services and a variety of clinical and support services.
During his tenure as vice president, Adams led various teams focused on improving patient satisfaction, growing outpatient business, and implementing a surgical information system. He has played a critical role in countless projects, including the $300 million “Transforming Care” project that was completed in 2009 and the designation of being the first hospital in New Jersey to receive LEED Gold. Prior to becoming vice president, Adams held various hospital management positions.
Adams received a B.S. in Business Administration from Rider University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Seton Hall University. He holds board certified in health care management status (FACHE) in the American College of Healthcare Executives, demonstrating a commitment to professional excellence. In 2010, Adams received the American College of Healthcare (ACHE) Executives Early Career Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award. This award recognizes ACHE affiliates who have significantly contributed toward the advancement of healthcare management excellence and the achievement of the goals of ACHE.
