His interests include street violence, criminal justice and law enforcement and he has carried out research on the streets of Harlem and Wilmington, Delaware to name but a few.
He works in poor communities surveying opinions and studies the connections between prejudice, racism, crime and the criminal justice system. He also carries out research with law enforcement agencies and policy makers to complete the picture.
Payne is available to talk on why the Baltimore riots have occurred, why these young men are destroying their own communities, the messages they are sending and why they should not be ignored.
