Dr. Leap Shares Humor, Inspiration, and Insight from the EDThe new ebook compiles 28 essays from the long-running "Second Opinion" column in Emergency Medicine News. The title is drawn from one of Dr. Leap's most popular columns, in which he introduced the "Republic of Emergistan," a place that will be intimately familiar to attendees of ACEP 2014.
"Emergistan is less a place than a state of mind," writes Dr. Leap. It is "so unlike the rest of the human experience that many individuals find it difficult to believe the stories we bring back." His essays are often funny, sometimes poignant, and occasionally indignant, but all are likely to stay with readers long after they have closed the book.
Dr. Leap is a member of Blue Ridge Emergency Physicians, an emergency physician at Oconee Memorial Hospital in Seneca, SC, a member of the board of directors for the South Carolina College of Emergency Physicians, and an op-ed columnist for the Greenville News.
