We have a faculty member here at the Institute for Genome Sciences at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore who studies malaria and vaccines – specifically the parasites that cause malaria in humans. Joana Carneiro da Silva, PhD, was on the first team of scientists to study parasite genomics.
