From the authors: "These actions, together with the stimulatory action of [phoenixin] on vasopressin secretion, suggest that this recently discovered neuropeptide may impact the recruitment of critically important neural circuits through which ingestive behaviors and endocrine mechanisms that maintain fluid and electrolyte homeostasis are regulated."

This study is highlighted as one of June’s "best of the best" as part of the American Physiological Society's APSselect program.
