Newswise — New York, NY (March 20, 2014) – Wolters Kluwer Health and the American Pediatric Surgical Nurses Association (APSNA), today announced an agreement to publish the Journal of Pediatric Surgical Nursing, the official publication of the APSNA. The first issue of the quarterly online journal was posted today at www.journalofpediatricsurgicalnursing.com.
"We're very excited to enter into this publishing partnership with Wolters Kluwer Health to expand our journal's reach and readership on the national and international levels,” said Dr. Kimberly Haus McIltrot, DNP, CPNP, CWOCN, Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Pediatric Surgical Nursing. Dr. Mclltrot is Lead Nurse Practitioner, General Pediatric Surgery, at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Wound Ostomy Continence Consultant for Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. She serves as the Publication Chair for APSNA.
Journal of Pediatric Surgical Nursing covers all aspects of nursing care for children undergoing general surgery, including perioperative care, trauma, wound, ostomy and incontinence care. The journal features original research, reviews, commentary and other features on these and other topics of interest to nurses and advanced practice nurses and others involved in providing care for pediatric surgical patients.
Members of the APSNA will have full access to the journal as a benefit of membership; individual and institutional subscriptions to the online journal will be available as well. Pediatric surgical nurses can submit original manuscripts at http://www.editorialmanager.com/jpsn.
