As the coronavirus continues to spread across the U.S. and worldwide, many are trying to better understand what the virus is and how it affects us. Yet, in the midst of the pandemic, misinformation has been spreading virally.

University of Kentucky virologist Rebecca Dutch is available to separate truth from myth and answer key questions about the novel coronavirus including what we know right now—and what we don’t know yet.

Dutch can discuss a variety of topics related to the novel coronavirus including the virus’ origin, transmission rates, mutation, testing, and the difference between COVID-19 and SARS/MERS. Dutch is chair of the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry in the University of Kentucky’s College of Medicine.
