Measuring Mutations in Sperm May Reveal Risk for Autism in Future Children
University of California San DiegoSDSC researchers used SDSC’s ‘Comet’ Supercomputer to analyze genome sequences in a recent study published in Nature Medicine by an international team of scientists led by researchers at UC San Diego School of Medicine. The study describes a method to measure disease-causing mutations found only in the sperm of the father, providing a more accurate assessment of autism spectrum disease (ASD) risk in future children.
