Black Girls Commonly Have Negative Experiences Related to Their Natural Hair
Arizona State University (ASU)A new study from the Arizona State University Department of Psychology has shown that when Black girls wear their hair natural or in protective styles, it is common for them to have negative experiences such as verbal teasing and even unwanted physical touching. The study, which included 105 girls aged 10-15 years, is the first to characterize hair satisfaction in young Black girls.
