A Simple Method to Improve Heart-Attack Repair Using Stem Cell-Derived Heart Muscle Cells
University of Alabama at BirminghamThe heart cannot regenerate muscle after a heart attack. Injecting heart muscle cells grown in vitro could help the failing heart, but engraftment rates are low. A new and simple method to improve the quality of the delivered cells has now been tested in mice, and it doubles the engraftment rate.
